About ShuzyQ
Our History
During a family trip to Europe in 2005, I fell in love with small, local boutiques. So when I returned to the US, I teamed up with Sydney Mitchell to open Shoefly in Juneau, Alaska. We then expanded to Downtown Anchorage with a sister store called ShuzyQ Shoes. After ten successful years, we decided to divide the two stores, with Sydney taking ownership of Shoefly and me taking ownership of ShuzyQ, along with my daughter Shawna Rider.
Then, the pandemic hit. But we didn't let it stop us! We joined forces with Mountain View Sports, a family-owned fishing and outdoor store that's been around since 1962. Now, ShuzyQ and Mountain View Sports are some of the best locally-owned stores in Anchorage. We're so grateful to keep thriving and serving our community.
ShuzyQ is not just a store, it is my passion. I am constantly inspired to provide our customers with the best experience possible. When I am not working, I enjoy pursuing my other passions such as trail running, Pilates, traveling, and spending time with my loved ones.
